Ambassador Bootcamp – Brisbane 2024

FREE Teacher PD Opportunity – Brisbane, 5-6th September 2024

Lutheran Teachers, Chaplains, Principals and key leaders… you’re invited to join us at our Ambassador Bootcamp in Brisbane on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 September.

This unique professional development opportunity is for Lutheran educators from the LEQ region who are passionate about service learning and international justice.

Over two days, participants will grow in their understanding of effective humanitarian aid and service learning, and they will be equipped with the skills and resources they need to be ALWS Ambassadors within their school community.

Program highlights

  • Hear stories from the humanitarian aid frontline shared by the ALWS team.
  • Hear the inspiring story of Patrick Onek who lived in Kakuma Refugee camp for ten years before travelling as a refugee to start a new life in Brisbane.
  • Discover the heart of service learning and the value of good aid.
  • Be inspired as you hear Michael Stolz’s, ALWS Executive Director, journey from business consultancy to ALWS Executive Director.
  • Challenge yourself to step outside of your comfort zone as you step off the edge of Kangaroo Point cliffs and abseil down the 20 metre drop.
Jodie Hoff, sharing on Service Learning at Ambassador Bootcamp Adelaide 2023. We can’t wait to welcome Jodie again at Ambassador Bootcamp Brisbane 2024!
  • Share your ideas and passion for justice.
  • Develop a toolkit and action plan to create an impact in your student’s and community’s hearts.
  • Receive individualised support from ALWS upon returning to your school.
  • Access to a suite of ALWS resources that can inspire, equip and encourage students to explore their connection to social justice, human rights and development.
  • Gain 16 professional learning hours.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we have been able to make this professional development opportunity FREE for Lutheran educators from the LEQ region… and we would love to involve an educator or two from each school community in the region.
